Continental Travel Singapore suspended from conducting travel agent activities

SINGAPORE: Continental Vacation Singapore has been suspended from conducting journey agent actions for 5 months from Tuesday (Jul 19), stated the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

This follows Continental Travel’s appeal against the discover of intent to suspend its journey agent licence for its suspected involvement in fraudulent SingapoRediscovers voucher redemptions, claimed STB in a media advisory.

“Continental Vacation Singapore allegedly engaged in cashback preparations by partially refunding, in cash, the worth of the SingapoRediscovers voucher bookings created by some users of the general public,” the tourism board extra. 

In September past year, the police arrested a few folks joined to the travel agency for their alleged involvement in the fraudulent redemptions. Law enforcement investigations are ongoing, claimed STB.

The tourism board mentioned in September past yr that Continental Travel had been taken out from the voucher scheme.
