Hilton grows DoubleTree brand with new Surabaya property
Indonesia’s second largest city has been boosted by the arrival of a 310-room DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, featuring three dining outlets and extensive meeting facilities.
Hilton Worldwide is continuing to grow its DoubleTree by Hilton brand with the opening of a new property in Surabaya. We find out more about this exciting launch.
Surabaya’s new DoubleTree property
To create DoubleTree by Hilton Surabaya, Hilton partnered with hotel owner PT Indo Citra Eka Abadi. This contemporary hotel sits in the downtown area of Indonesia’s second biggest metropolis, offering guests convenient access to Tunjungan Plaza, the city’s largest shopping mall, and Museum Surabaya. In addition, the airport can be reached via car in 45 minutes.
“Since its launch more than 50 years ago, DoubleTree by Hilton has become one of our fastest growing brands across the globe,” said Alexandra Jaritz, senior vice president, brand management, Asia Pacific, Hilton. “Today, the brand is a symbol of comfort for both business and leisure guests alike.
“We are thrilled to add to our portfolio the new DoubleTree by Hilton Surabaya, a contemporary hotel complemented by a host of culinary offerings and state-of-the-art meeting spaces. I have every confidence it will be a welcome addition for the locals and in the longer term, domestic and international travellers to Surabaya.”
Everything leisure and business guests desire
The hotel’s 310 rooms offer stunning views of the city, plus the latest amenities and tech-focused extras. A gym’s available for guests who prefer to stay active, moreover, while the Kids Zone should help entertain guests aged four through 12.
From a culinary perspective, DoubleTree by Hilton Surabaya also pulls out all the stops with three dining venues offering everything from local dishes to international favourites. The rooftop bar on the 22nd floor is arguably the highlight as it brings together a particularly heady combination: panoramic views, live music and creative cocktails.
An impressive new MICE destination
DoubleTree by Hilton Surabaya, only the sixth property in Hilton’s Indonesian portfolio, offers a remarkable variety of different meeting and event facilities.
For example, set on the building’s highest floor, a 605 sq m function room serves up 360-degree views of the city. And the hotel’s grand ballroom accommodates 800 sq m of meeting space with advanced audiovisual equipment and 47 sq m of built-in LED screens.
“As the largest economy in South-East Asia, Indonesia plays a key role in Hilton’s regional growth and expansion,” said Paul Hutton, vice president, operations, Southeast Asia, Hilton. “We are delighted to welcome our latest addition to the Hilton family in no less than one of the best locations in Surabaya, the second largest city in Indonesia.
“With its strategic location in close proximity to Surabaya’s business and cultural districts, we are confident DoubleTree by Hilton Surabaya is well-positioned to be one of the top meeting venues in the city and will be top of mind for both business and leisure travellers.”
