Reps. Greg Murphy, R-N.C., and Mariannette Miller-Meeks, R-Iowa, right now launched a Home companion to AHA-supported legislation that would direct the Federal government Accountability Office to study the vacation nursing industry’s business enterprise and payment tactics, like their influence on workforce shortages and prospective value gouging for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Many hospitals and overall health units are experiencing substantial fiscal and operational worries as a final result of the unsustainable premiums charged by vacation nurse staffing agencies,” AHA reported in a letter of support. “We thank you for introducing your invoice, which will highlight several of these worries.”

Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., launched the Senate bill last month.
