NEWSWATCH 7S. DE’LON DILLARD REPORTS. THIS EMPTY STOREFRONT WAS ONCE THE HOME OF DESTINATIONS TRAVEL CENTER THE PANDEMIC PUSHED THE COMPANY TO OPERATE VIRTUALLY. THAT WAS A VERY DIFFICULT THING TO DO. BECAUSE WE’VE BEEN THERE SO LONG AND IT WE LOSE OUR VISIBILITY, YOU KNOW BY NOT HAVING THAT STOREFRONT ANY LONGER LAURA DENNIS IS THE COMPANY’S TRAVEL ADVISOR. SHE SAYS COVID-19 HIT THEM HARD ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE INDUSTRY TRAVEL WENT DOWN ABOUT 90 PERCENT IN MARCH. WE LOST A TON OF BOOKINGS THAT WE HAD PEOPLE THAT PEOPLE HAVE RESERVED FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR. THEY ALL CANCELED. NOBODY WAS BUYING NEW TRAVEL ABSOLUTELY UNEXPECTED. I MEAN IT DEFINITELY PUT A DAMPER ON THINGS BRIDGET CAN INHALE BOOKED HER SUMMER TRIP TO EUROPE THROUGH THE COMPANY. SHE HAD TO CANCEL THAT TRIP AND A CRUISE NEXT MARKED THOUGHT OF GETTING STUCK ON A CRUISE SHIP SOMEWHERE FOR EXTENDED AMOUNT OF TIME IF THERE HAD PUT THERE WAS AN OUTBREAK OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT WAS NOT APPEALING TO ME BUT PROGRESS ON A CORONAVIRUS VACCINE HAS DENNIS AND HAIL HOPEFUL. I’M HOPING WITH THE ANNOUNCEMENT THAT THERE’S POTENTIALLY A VACCINE OUT THERE FOR THE VIRUS THAT THAT’S GOING TO SPUR PEOPLE TO MORE BUT THEY ALSO KNOW THE SOLUTION MAY NOT BE WIDELY AVAILABLE UNTIL NEXT YEAR. I THINK I MIGHT HAVE TO WAIT A LITTLE WHILE FOR BUT I BE AT THIS POINT, I’D TENTATIVELY HAVE A TRIP PLANNED TO JAMAICA AND MARCH REPORTING
