Steigenberger makes Chinese debut | TOPHOTELNEWS

Deutsche Hospitality’s Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts brand has successfully expanded to the People’s Republic with the opening of Steigenberger Jinan Fengming.

One of China’s largest cities has been boosted by the arrival of the prestigious Steigenberger flag.

Introducing Steigenberger to China

Deutsche Hospitality is celebrating the launch of Steigenberger Jinan Fengming in the capital of Shandong province. Jinan, which has around 7 million residents, is an important hub for higher education and transport in eastern China.

The hotel is ideal for both business and leisure travellers due to its proximity to the city’s main railway station and airport. Guests can easily reach other attractions like Sunac Cultural & Tourism City, shopping centres and amusement parks as well.

“Together with our shareholder Huazhou, we have set ourselves the goal of sustainably establishing the upscale segment of Deutsche Hospitality in Asia and combining the values of the Steigenberger brand – tradition, luxury and exclusivity – with Chinese hospitality to create an experience for guests from all over the world,” said Marcus Bernhardt, CEO, Deutsche Hospitality.

“The opening of the first Steigenberger hotel in China in such challenging times underlines our successful cooperation with Huazhu and is an important step on our way to become one of the top three hotel companies in Europe by 2025. It makes me very proud that we are now also represented in China with our long-established Steigenberger brand.”

An inviting abode in Jinan

Steigenberger Jinan Fengming welcomes travellers with a bright and luxurious design that creates an instant connection to the surrounding mountains. Its modern design paired with traditional architectural elements give it a contemporary yet warm feel.

Apart from the 258 rooms overlooking the eastern part of the city, guests will find a variety of amenities to cater for their needs, including a pool. There are also dedicated family rooms, which come complete with rocking chairs and a small tent for children to play in.

Meanwhile, a Chinese specialty restaurant specialises in traditional Shandong cuisine, and an international buffet venue offers a selection of dishes from around the world. The lobby lounge also serves small bites and drinks.
