With everything going on in the world, I am absolutely loving domestic travel now more than ever because of the ease and sense of security I get from being close to home. In an effort to take a break from the hustle and bustle of New York City, I hopped on a train and headed to Lancaster County on a fun weekend getaway. It completely exceeded my expectations and I was in awe of its beauty and charm. The drive from New York City is about 3 hours and the train from here is just under that. I do recommend having a car while you’re there so you can enjoy all of the towns and sights at your own pace. The drive is really beautiful and peaceful throughout the county as well. Downtown Lancaster I started off in Downtown Lancaster where there is charming streets and architecture, boutique shops, fun restaurants and bars and more. Where to Stay The best and most central place in Downtown to stay is the Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square. It’s a modern property with a gorgeous rooftop and excellent views.
