Two of the country’s best islands are in Massachusetts, according to Travel + Leisure – Boston 25 News

NANTUCKET, Mass. — Journey + Leisure is out with a new checklist of the ideal islands in the continential United States, and two of them are in Massachusetts.
The magazine’s rankings had been introduced July 12. To compile its list, Travel + Leisure questioned audience to share their best island activities, primarily based on activities and sights, organic points of interest and beach locations, meals, friendliness and overall value.
Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard were being the two Bay Point out places to make the slice. Nantucket rated bigger at No. 3, with an over-all score of 84.53.
“Everything about Nantucket can be described as charming, from the rose-trellised cottages to the cobblestoned streets and scenic bicycle rides. Both its eating and cafe scenes are booming,” Vacation + Leisure wrote.
The Vineyard landed at No. 8, with the magazine describing it as owning “something for anyone.” The island gained an all round rating of 83.25.
Florida was the most popular location for island-goers, scooping up five entries on this year’s record.
